Taqwa Foundation

The Genesis of Taqwa Educational Foundation

In a rapidly evolving world, a group of dedicated individuals, with a great appreciation of their community, recognized a growing need. They observed a gap in the educational landscape – a need for an organization that not only provides academic excellence but also nurtures children within a supportive, understanding, and ethically sound environment. This realization sparked the genesis of Taqwa Educational Foundation.

A Vision for Holistic Education

The founders, comprising educators, and parents of former students shared a common vision: to encourage the creation of a space where children could thrive intellectually, socially, and spiritually. They were driven by the following core concerns:

  • The Need for Quality Education: They saw a pressing need for high-quality education that met global standards while remaining relevant to the local context. They aimed to “offer a high quality and academically sound education to children in a supportive and understanding environment” and to “educate children within the accepted global and rational standards.”
  • The Importance of a Safe and Supportive Environment: Recognizing that children learn best when they feel safe and supported, they sought to “provide educational resources for a safe, challenging, tolerant, supportive environment to encourage students’ participation.”
  • The Necessity of Community Engagement: They understood that education is not confined to the classroom. They believed in the power of community and aimed to foster strong connections between schools, parents, and the wider society. This led to objectives like “Community Sensitization of parents and adults on child development,” “Creating social and educational groups to foster community education and school partnerships for technical content sharing,” and “Organizing free seminars, lectures and sensitization on new educational policies.”
  • The Development of Educators: They recognized that the quality of education is directly linked to the quality of teachers. They committed to “Training teachers on child minding and teaching techniques” to ensure that educators were well-equipped to nurture young minds.
  • Accessibility and Inclusivity: They believed that quality education should be accessible to all children, regardless of their background. This conviction led them to include “Providing educational scholarships to children” among their core objectives.
  • Curriculum Innovation: They were determined to provide a curriculum that was both rigorous and relevant. They aimed to “Create and Remodel school curricula to meet world-class standards within the regulatory framework” and to “Implement its educational objectives i.e. the establishment of creche/daycare centers, nursery, primary and secondary schools to educate children.”
  • Support Systems: The founders also recognized the importance of support systems for children, young adults, and parents, and wanted to “Form care groups for providing support to children, young adults and parents.”

Building the Foundation

Driven by these aims and objectives, the founders embarked on a journey to establish Taqwa Educational Foundation. They worked tirelessly to:

  • Develop comprehensive and innovative curricula that incorporates Islam as a culture and not a subject.
  • Create safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environments.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and the community.
  • Secure resources to provide scholarships and support services.

Taqwa Educational Foundation was born out of a profound commitment to providing holistic education that empowers children, strengthens families, and enriches communities. It stands as a testament to the power of a shared vision and the unwavering belief in the potential of every child.
